App Help and Faster Widgets

Ask App Help how a feature works without mixing help into your saved chats, and reach Listen, Voice Note, Text Note, and Quick Actions from new home-screen widgets on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

App Help: a focused guide chat

When you know what you want to do but not where the setting lives, open Menu → App Help. Ask in English how a feature or setting works, and App Help combines the model you already have active with the app's bundled help guide.

This is product guidance, not a second general-purpose chat. App Help can explain workflows and point to relevant settings, but it does not use attachments, tools, roles, your Knowledge Libraries, or an editable system prompt. Keeping that boundary narrow makes it easier to ask a direct question and get an answer grounded in the app.

Keeping help separate from saved chats

Help questions often have a short life: you find the control, finish the task, and move on. App Help sessions stay in memory and never appear in conversation history, so a question about a narration setting does not become another saved chat to organize later.

Choose New Session whenever you want a clean transcript. If App Help cannot resolve a question, name the feature or Settings section more specifically, check the referenced screen, or send reviewed feedback. Avoid pasting secrets or private document content into a help question.

Four new widgets, each with one clear job

Add the free On Device AI widgets from the system widget gallery on iPhone, iPad, or Mac:

  • Listen shows playback status, progress, and an active sleep-timer countdown. Its control resumes, pauses, or starts the first item in Up Next.
  • Voice Note opens Apple Speech note creation and waits for you to press Record.
  • Text Note opens a new note.
  • Quick Actions gives you Play Next, RSS Feeds, Voice Note, and New Text Note in one place.

Medium Voice Note and Text Note widgets can show one to three recent notes, with an option to hide or show their titles. Smaller and safety-sensitive presentations never show user-created titles.

Widgets follow your app language

Widget labels follow the App Language selected in On Device AI and fall back to English if a translation is unavailable. User-created note titles, document names, RSS titles, and source names remain exactly as you wrote or received them.

The interface now supports English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Traditional Chinese. App Help still answers English questions only.
